Hello! and welcome to my music website.
For the past few months I've been working towards changing the way I do things and make a living. You may not know that by day I am a builder, knocking down old things and building up new. Now at 62, I'm starting to feel it and my body and soul are telling me it's time, and it's fine, to make some changes...
I've been a musician - singer/songwriter mostly Americana/folk style - since I was 15 but I never could quite get my act together or find the confidence to move away from the tedious but necessary day jobs (I was in IT for 20 years before getting into the (much more fun) building trade). Of course, I've done a lot of music over the years, been in bands, written songs, collaborated with wonderful people and led worship in church. I've found singing and playing the guitar to be the best kind of self-therapy too.
Now I have a plan...
It involves lots of busking, as many gigs as I can take on, finishing a bunch of songs and musical ideas, recording them to the best of my ability and uploading them here to this website in the hope that someone will find value in them and I might be able to start making a living from something I love doing. Some of these tracks will be released on Spotify/iTunes etc. I'll also be working with other musicians, songwriters and lyricists to produce the best songs and music we can make together (reach out to me if you like what I do and think we could work well together). Oh and there's Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok so, oh my, I think it's going to be a very busy time...
If you like any of these tracks and you want to do something with them, please get in touch, that would be amazing. Most of the recordings, apart from the cover songs, are fully my own work and I have the copyright for both the composition and the master recordings. Pretty much all the recording is done in my own home studio. Where the songs have been written in collaboration with other songwriters and lyricists I have made this clear and I've tried only to upload recordings that are ready to go for sync or other uses you might find for them.
Looking ahead, I hope to be able to offer musical services to individuals, lyricists, songwriters and musicians. For example, I can come up with music for your lyrics, I can record a guitar part for you or I can sing on and/or produce a whole track for you or anything in between.
